WHO ARE WE?
The PalmWine Writer is an online journal and community of African writers interested in the publication of new literature, articles and essays on socio-political events, innovation in science and technology, development of new concepts and ideas, review of existing paradigms, and analyses of scholastic work. As a body, we are more interested in works of African living in Africa and persons of African descent.
WHAT WE DO
In a world where the truth is significantly in scarce supply and there is an influx of half-truths, mistruths, misinformation, false truths and alternative facts, the PalmWine Writer as an organisation is interested in providing accurate information and analyses of phenomena.
We are not particularly interested in “copy and paste” journalism, rather we are interested in the promotion of verified facts, informing and reinforming Africa and the World at large.
As a body, the PalmWine Writer is interested in African voices telling African stories. We aim to provide a platform where young and aspiring writers can develop their talents and we encourage submissions from writers from across Africa. For information on submissions, please click here.
We find it important to state that the PalmWine Writer is not affiliated to any political party, regime nor government of any state. All articles represent the thoughts and expressions of the individual writer and not the PalmWine Writer as an organisation.
WHAT IS IN A NAME?
In African mythologies, PalmWine is the elixir of the gods and the serum of truth. We find the name apt because we identify with its rich Africanness, courage and truth.
UNSOLICITED MAILS
We do not appreciate bulk emails, email attachments, and junk email of any kind and any of these unsolicited emails will be filtered and immediately discarded upon receipt.
